Geothermal Power Plants in Suswa
Initially 6 MW Pilot geothermal power plant that produces water for Suswa community as a bi-product.
Utilizing 20% of the steam harnessed which may be as high as 600 MW in total or 120 MW for Suswa Stima
The promoters of Suswa Stima have already had discussion with GDC and the Ministry of Energy about its plans. Suswa Stima plans to acquire 20% of the steam harnessed in Suswa area for electricity production.

Kenya has won a legal case following the cancellation of the license for geothermal development at Suswa, Kenya in 2012. Canadian WalAm Energy brought the case against the Republic of Kenya aiming to reinstall the license.
